Trigger Ideas — Industry & Awareness Calendars

An extension of the Important Days feature — the same scheduler pattern, the same ImportantDay model, but with industry-specific filtering so tenants only see days relevant to their sector.

7. Industry Awareness Months & Weeks

Signal: A pre-seeded catalogue of industry-specific observance periods — “Mental Health Awareness Month”, “Cybersecurity Awareness Month”, “World Environment Day”, “Small Business Saturday”, “World Teachers’ Day” — matched to the tenant’s industry field.

Post angle: Thought leadership that ties the brand to a cause or professional theme relevant to their audience. Not promotional — educational, empathetic, or community-driven.

Why it works: Industry awareness periods give brands a socially accepted reason to publish on a topic they care about, without appearing salesy. The audience already has the topic top-of-mind. Brands that show up during these moments are seen as engaged and values-driven.

Automation level: Fully automatic — identical to the existing Important Days scheduler (4-day advance notification, dedup, one-click post creation).

Dedup window: Once per awareness period per year.

Data source: Extended ImportantDay model + Tenant.industry field.

Implementation sketch — minimal changes to existing Important Days:

  1. Add industries String[] field to the ImportantDay model (alongside existing countries[])
  2. Update the country-matching filter in all three routers (admin, tenant, dm) to also check industries:
    // Include if: isGlobal OR tenant country matches OR tenant industry matches const matches = day.isGlobal || (tenantCountry && day.countries.includes(tenantCountry)) || (tenantIndustry && day.industries.includes(tenantIndustry));
  3. Add industry multi-select to the Manage CRUD modal (/system/important-days)
  4. Seed 40–60 industry-specific awareness days (see starter list below)

No new scheduler handler needed — the existing occasion.daily.check job handles it automatically.

Writer prompt guidance for industry awareness posts:

  • Do NOT make it a sales pitch
  • Acknowledge why this topic matters to the audience
  • Share one practical insight, stat, or tip related to the theme
  • Close with an invitation to engage (“What does [topic] mean to your team?”)
  • contentType: "awareness_moment" in social-post-writer

SCENE_MAP entry (awareness_moment):

“Clean editorial composition with a thematic icon or symbolic visual representing the cause, muted warm palette, text-forward layout with the awareness theme as the headline, professional and sincere — avoids corporate feel”

8. National Industry Days (Long Tail)

Signal: Niche professional recognition days that are highly specific to one industry — “National Accountants Day”, “World Physiotherapy Day”, “International Day of the Midwife”, “World Plumbing Day”, “National Doctors’ Day”.

Post angle: In-industry pride and community recognition. “Happy [Professional Day] to every [profession] — here’s why we think your work matters.”

Why it works: These posts perform disproportionately well within tight professional communities. A physiotherapy clinic posting for “World Physiotherapy Day” gets engagement from other physios, patients, and suppliers — all warm audiences. The specificity signals genuine industry knowledge.

Automation level: Fully automatic — same scheduler pattern.

Difference from #7: These are single days (not month-long), more narrowly scoped, and feel more personal/community-oriented than awareness campaigns. The tone is celebratory of people, not educational about a cause.

Implementation note: These share the same ImportantDay model and industries[] field as #7. No separate implementation — just additional seed data and the correct industry tag.

Writer prompt guidance: Celebrate the profession, not the brand. The brand’s role is to show solidarity. Good format: “Today is [Day]. If you’re a [professional], thank you for [specific thing they do that others undervalue].” Tag or mention relevant associations if available.

SCENE_MAP entry: Same as awareness_moment — sincere, community-first visual style.
